Rapid Needs Assessment

You are invited to submit quotations to deliver the following services

 A rapid assessment of the reality of Palestinian families who moved to Egypt after the 7th of October, 2023 and their priority needs which involve identifying and addressing the most critical requirements or situations that demand immediate attention

:Introduction

The Women's Affairs Center is an independent, non-profit, women's civil society organization that aims to empower women and promote women's rights and gender equality through the following programs: the Protection and Women's Empowerment Program, the Research and Information Program, and the Advocacy and Communication Program. :Background/ Scope of Work

The Women's Affairs Center intends to conduct a rapid assessment of the reality of Palestinian families who moved to Egypt after the 7th of October, 2023 and their priority needs, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program/Program of Assistance to the Palestinian People

:Scope of Work

:The consultant/company is expected to perform the following tasks

Given that disbursing funds outside Gaza Strip is beyond the scope of Women's Affairs Center, therefore, the consultant/company must assign and pay for an expert to act as a research- coordinator inside Egypt

Conducting 377 survey questionnaires with Gazan households in Egypt-

Questionnaire photocopying-

Questionnaire data collection (This amount includes fees for data collector to fill questionnaire)-

Questionnaire data entry and analysis report-

Mapping stakeholders being sources of information, design data collection tools, rapid assessment report writing-

Desk review*

Designing of data collection tools (questionnaire, Key-informant interviews, KIs, In-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions FGDs, field visits)*

Gathering and review the collected quantitative and qualitative data*

Overseeing and monitor RA procedural steps and methods*

Undertaking qualitative data analysis, findings, conclusions and recommendations*

Developing the RA report structure*

Writing the draft report in Arabic language and include WAC and UNDP feedback in the final report*

 :Methodology 

The Consultant/ company will make the RA through questionnaires, focus groups, in-depth interviews and key-informants' interviews with various stakeholders-

 :Deliverables

The consulting company is expected to deliver the following-

A detailed work plan and methodology for conducting the Rapid Assessmen-

A final rapid assessment report, in/ Arabic and in English, presenting the findings, analysis, and recommendations, including any relevant annexes, or any supporting materials-

 :Timeline

The company is committed to delivering the above tasks and outputs within a maximum period of 2 months from the date of signing the contract-

The execution of the Rapid Needs Assessment should take place from 15/01/2025 to 31/05 /2025. The consultant/company should adhere to the specified timeline and submit the final RA report by the agreed upon deadline

 :Qualifications and Experience

Interested consultants/companies should possess the following qualifications and experience-

Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data-

Demonstrated expertise in conducting needs assessment, FGDs, preferably in in the field of research of gender and women studies and working with civil society organizations-

Strong knowledge of the socio-political context in Egypt and familiarity with relevant stakeholders and organizations both in the Gaza Strip and Egypt-
